Case Study: Seamless Integration of HDASH into Modus for IDVA Teams

At Paloma, we understand the importance of reducing administrative burdens and improving data continuity for frontline domestic abuse services. One of our recent projects involved supporting a partner organisation to embed the HDASH form directly into their Modus case management system.

The Challenge

Our client needed a way for IDVAs to complete the newly approved HDASH form directly within Modus. The traditional process—downloading, completing, and scanning documents—was inefficient and made reporting difficult. The objective was clear:

  • Enable in-system completion of the HDASH form

  • Eliminate the need to upload scanned documents

  • Make HDASH data reportable for internal use and partnership reporting

  • Ensure consistency across agencies using the same form

Our Approach

After assessing the technical possibilities within existing constraints, we identified a viable, budget-conscious approach to meet the organisation's needs.

We collaborated directly with the client to determine the best placement of the form within Modus, ensure all necessary data fields were included, and build in additional questions where appropriate. Once the solution was defined, we moved quickly to implement the changes, ensuring a smooth rollout without disrupting day-to-day operations.

The Outcome

The integration has delivered measurable benefits to the client’s IDVA service:

  • Improved workflow: IDVAs can now complete HDASH forms directly in Modus, saving time and effort.

  • Consistent documentation: All agencies involved now use a single, standardised HDASH form.

  • Enhanced reporting: The team can easily generate reports from within the system using structured HDASH data.

  • Better continuity of care: Records are centralised and accessible, supporting more coordinated multi-agency responses.

Client Feedback

Our client highlighted the value of working with a team that truly understands the domestic abuse sector. Our Client Director, Jivan’s experience with DA, IDVA, and ISVA services was particularly appreciated. They praised her clear communication, practical advice, and responsiveness throughout the project.

“Jivan was open about support and described processes and options easily. Her knowledge of DA/IDVA/ISVA services was a big help.”
