Welcome to Paloma's Mock website.
The aim of this project is to introduce Paloma's
capabilities. None of the functions on this site 'work' as such;
nothing is connected to a database. The idea is provide a general
introduction to what we can do and what we have to offer.
WEB SITE IMPLEMENTATION – AN INTRODUCTION
As people have become increasingly aware, the implementation
of a good website has a great impact not only on profitability but
also on the branding, or image, that the organisation has in the
market. What most businesses are now realising is that it is not
enough to just have a good looking website, the users want more.
And so to keep up with the speed of development, more and more recruitment
agencies are offering online functionality in order to attract more
candidates and clients. Using this method, they are also achieving
a new level of continued interaction with both sides of their customer
base.
It is important to understand that different web sites
have different objectives depending on the organisation’s
goals. The three main functions of a site are listed as follows:
1. Marketing Tool
This is where a company employs a web site purely
for the purpose of displaying ‘static’ information.
This is used mainly to attract potential clients and / or candidates,
so the emphasis is on advertising and would contain little or no
functionality. Simple functions such as the ability to send an email
with a general enquiry could be included. This would be used mainly
for potential clients or candidates to find out about 'Your Company'
2. Communications
ToolTo use a website as a communications tool is
to allow the exchange of information between client and candidate.
This involves the dynamic sharing of data and employs a database
(Fortuna 2000) to facilitate. This is a powerful and effective way
of attracting and retaining new candidates and clients and requires
little administration.
3. Administrative Tool
Web sites can provide business solutions, not just
to a company’s clients but also to PROFILE PERSONNEL itself.
As an administrative tool, a web site can provide the ability to
manage PROFILE PERSONNEL from anywhere, in effect offering the ability
for a company to have a virtual office, held on a server and accessed
remotely by employees. This would be used mainly for company staff
to remotely enter and retrieve data.
Many recruitment companies have now made the transition
from having a marketing tool to developing a dynamic communications
tool. They realise that a site cannot only advertise their business
but can become an extension of it.
This transition has reshaped the dynamics of the recruitment
market. Both employers and employees now expect not only to find
details and information about a recruitment company, but also to
interact with the latest information, via a database, online.
Paloma can offer ten years of experience in developing
and integrating powerful recruitment databases. Over time this experience
has afforded a strong platform on which to develop and expand into
web integration. Being commended at the ‘New Media Age’
awards Paloma has now been recognised by the industry as leaders
in their field of database integration with advanced web technology.
As well as functionality, site design is also
an important factor. A web site can often be the first thing that
a potential customer will encounter, and so it is vitally important
for the site to effectively communicate PROFILE PERSONNEL’s
corporate image. Paloma’s expert design teams works in close
collaboration with the development teams to create the complete
solution for all recruitment companies looking to use the Internet
to extend their business.
